Amy Abate received her bachelor’s degree in 2001 from Boston College (B.A., Economics, with a minor in Italian), graduating cum laude, and received her J.D. in 2005 from Brooklyn Law School, where she was a member of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law. Ms. Abate has worked on several securities fraud class actions against numerous issuers of securities for allegedly misleading investors, including: In re Marsh & McLennan Cos., Inc. Securities Litigation, No. 04-CV-8144 (CM) (S.D.N.Y.) ($400 million recovery); and In re Royal Dutch/Shell Transport Securities Litigation (U.S. settlement with a minimum cash value of $130 million, and a contingent value of more than $180 million as well as an additional $28.34 million secured in connection with a related European settlement of $350 million, which the Firm was substantially responsible for obtaining). Ms. Abate is also active in the Firm’s antitrust and mass tort practices, where she is currently working on In re Rail Freight Fuel Surcharge Antitrust Litigation, No. 07-mc-0489 (D.D.C.); and In re Denture Cream Products Liability Litigation, No. 09-md-02051 (S.D. Fla.) (MDL motion pending).
Ms. Abate is admitted to the Bars of the States of New York and Connecticut.
