Bernstein Liebhard LLP is pleased to announce that Brian Lehman, former law clerk for the Honorable Shira A. Scheindlin (United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York), became associated with the firm on April 6, 2009.
Mr. Lehman has significant experience in multi-district litigation and securities fraud class actions. Among other cases, from 2007 to 2008, Mr. Lehman assisted Judge Scheindlin under Rule 53 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure in a mass tort case in the Southern District of New York.
Mr. Lehman graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School in 2000 and the University of Michigan in 1996. While at the University of Chicago, Mr. Lehman was a co-founder and articles editor for the Chicago Journal of International Law and a member of the University of Chicago Legal Forum. Following law school, Mr. Lehman clerked in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in addition to clerking for Judge Scheindlin.
In addition to working on individual matters, Mr. Leham is a member of the Firm’s Appellate Practice Group which handles all the Firm’s appeals and prepares amicus curiae briefs on a pro bono basis in important cases affecting the Firm’s clients.
