Bernstein Liebhard LLP is honored to announce that the firm has been named to The National Law Journal’s inaugural list of “America’s Elite Trial Lawyers.”  The firm was selected as one of the firms that “are doing the most creative and substantial work” in their respective practices and have “pulled in big victories in complex cases that have a wide impact on the law and legal business.”

The National Law Journal focused on the diverse nature of Bernstein Liebhard’s practice, emphasizing the firm’s “winning record in securities cases” and its growth in the practice areas of antitrust, mass torts, and other complex litigations.  Commenting on the firm’s expansion and success, Mr. Bernstein noted that “securities cases were our bread and butter, but we are applying that skill set to all kinds of litigation.”  To that end, The National Law Journal highlighted two of the firm’s cases, a securities litigation class action and a national antitrust case:

  • Peters v. JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., No. 13-616-cv (2d Cir. Jul. 31, 2014):  The firm obtained a significant ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in which the Court vacated the dismissal of a securities class action against JinkoSolar Holdings Co., Ltd. on materiality grounds, finding that cautionary statements in JinkoSolar’s prospectuses, though truthful, were nevertheless misleading because they gave false assurances to the company’s investors when documents showed otherwise.

  • In re Processed Egg Products Antitrust Litigation, No. 08-md-02002 (GP) (E.D. Pa.):  The firm obtained preliminary approval of a $28 million partial settlement (in addition to $25 million already received) in a national antitrust litigation alleging an industry-wide, price-fixing conspiracy that raised the price of shell eggs and egg products.
