July 2015

Bernstein Liebhard LLP is honored to be listed for the ninth consecutive year in the 2015 edition of The Legal 500, a self-described guide that provides the most up-to-date vision of the legal market and is “relied upon by millions of buyers of legal services worldwide.”  Bernstein Liebhard was ranked as one of the top eight plaintiffs’ firms that litigate securities class actions and mass torts.  According to its editors, “[o]nly a small number of firms in the US have a truly national presence coupled with the capability to handle sophisticated and complex work; these are the ones we choose to highlight here.”  The editors further noted that “[t]his is not a game of numbers – indeed many of the firms included are, small, single-office firms – but simply a question of quality.”

Specifically, The Legal 500 cited Bernstein Liebhard’s role as lead counsel in the In re KIT Digital Securities Litigation, in which the firm represented the lead plaintiff and secured a settlement in excess of $6 million.  The publication also cited the firm’s role as co-lead counsel in In re Fannie Mae Securities Litigation, representing the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, which settled for $153 million.  Additionally, The Legal 500 recognized the firm’s position as lead counsel in two securities class actions:  City of Austin Police Retirement System vs. Kinross Gold Corp. and In re Tower Group Securities Litigation.  Further, the publication recommended Partners Stanley D. Bernstein, Jeffrey M. Haber, Christian Siebott, and Stephanie M. Beige for their work in the securities litigation practice area.
