Bernstein Liebhard LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Felecia L. Stern has been named by Super Lawyers to be among the top lawyers in New York State for 2011. Ms. Stern focuses her practice on class action/mass torts, securities litigation, and appellate work.
Only five percent of the lawyers in New York are named by Super Lawyers. The selections for Super Lawyers are made by their research team, which is a service of the Thomson Reuters, Legal division based in Eagan, Minnesota. Each year, the research team at Super Lawyers undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.
Ms. Stern joined Bernstein Liebhard LLP in 2002. In addition to having extensive complex and class action litigation experience, Ms. Stern has worked to recover billions of dollars for the Firm’s clients, and was instrumental in forcing a multinational pharmaceutical company to re-label a popular at-home medical testing device to accurately reflect the product’s limitations. Most recently, as one of the Firm’s partners in charge of the day-to-day management of In re Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. Securities Litigation, Ms. Stern played a substantial role in securing a $400 million settlement fund on behalf of a class of injured investors.
Ms. Stern is one of three partners heading the Firm’s mass tort and consumer protection practice. Currently, she is actively involved in a wide array of pharmaceutical and consumer injury cases, including actions involving DePuy ASR hip replacement devices, and Fosamax femur fractures.
