The Republic of Iraq has retained Bernstein Liebhard LLP to sue more than ninety multinational corporations that conspired with the former regime of Saddam Hussein to corrupt the United Nations Oil-for-Food Program, depriving Iraq’s people of food, medicine, and other humanitarian aid. The scheme has been described as the largest financial and political fraud in history. The case is pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
